I'm a bad girl

I'm a bad girl

LIWEN HUA

My name is Daisy.

I'm a bad girl.

I don't like studying.
I don't like praying.
And I don't like going to church.

Ever since I was little, my parents had one expectation for me:

Be a good student.

But on my twelfth birthday, I finally snapped.

Right in front of my teacher, I tore my homework into pieces.

I watched the scraps of paper drift through the air.

And with them, I watched my parents' expectations fall apart.

I laughed like I didn't have a care in the world.

For the first time in years, all the emotions I'd been holding inside finally broke free.

After I turned eighteen, I left California and moved to Florida.

Not because I was running away.

I just wanted to get away from my parents.

I have my own art.

My own life. And a whole lot more adventures waiting for me.

“In Florida, you know a hurricane is coming. It’s the preparation that’s the hardest part,” she said.

The fear of losing power, the suffocating heat, and the pressure of trying to save everything in the fridge before it spoils can weigh heavily on residents like Daisy.

When Hurricane Milton hit, Daisy experienced the brutal reality of an extended power outage.

For the first time, she even found herself missing being at home with her parents.

“The power was out for days. No lights. No air conditioning. The temperature climbed to 95°F. And the worst part? I had just stocked the fridge with groceries.”

Daisy watched the clock slowly tick away.

Every minute felt like another minute closer to losing everything in the refrigerator.

Then her neighbor, Ken, gave her a piece of advice that changed everything.

“Do you have a generator?” Daisy asked.

Ken told her about Solupup.

“I met the founder of Solupup at one of their launch events,” Ken said. “He was incredibly warm and charismatic. You could tell right away that he genuinely cared about the environment.

He believed in building real solar-powered products—not noisy gas generators that fill your backyard with fumes and noise.

And the best part?

They actually stand behind what they make.

A 5+1-year warranty. They made the promise, and they keep it.”

For Daisy, it was more than just another piece of gear.

I borrowed one from my neighbor and raced home.

The moment the refrigerator kicked back on, I felt an incredible sense of relief. In that moment, it felt like having a firefighter show up when you needed one most.

After that, I bought one of their newest models myself.

And I became a loyal Solupup customer.

“I may be afraid of the dark, but I know the sun will rise again.” — Daisy
